EALAIN IS A relatively new company, having started trading in May 2006,
taking its name from the gaelic word for art. Its owner June McCann
feels this fits well with her gaelic speaking family connections and
the Scottish Contemporary Art that she exhibits from her Bridge of
Allan home and takes to events around the country.
Twice a year, in May and November, June opens up her home and turns it
into a gallery exhibiting up to 100 fantastic paintings, ranging very
much in size, style and price. The Home Gallery has something to suit
all tastes as Ealain represents a wide range of artists, from some of
Scotland's top artists to some straight out of art school.
June says: "Exhibiting at home are my favourite shows, where we can
show the art in a homely relaxed atmosphere, where the whole family can
take part in.
"Having a young family myself I feel the need to make the viewing and buying of art fun and take away the staid stuffiness that can on occasions prevail in the more traditional gallery"
Ealain also actively involved in hosting art events at a wide range of venues across Scotland"
June explains: "We are very pleased to have trebled our events in our first year of trading. We bring art to the people by arranging events around the country at locations such as the Gleneagles Hotel, the Turnberry Westin Resort and the Barclays Scottish open at Loch Lomond Golf Club to name just a few. These have resulted in great reiews and repeat bookings for next year.
In November Ealain Events returns to "The House of Beauly" for its Christmas exhibition which will run for seven weeks.
June adds: "We are very pleased to have a permanent exhibition starting at Inverness airport on the 9th of November. This will run as two man shows changing approximately every eight weeks".
