Opening at Drymen on Sunday the 5th of September  2-4pm, meet the artist.

Philips work has continued to be very much in demand, his chosen subjects are land and seascapes. He has the ability to capture the Scottish skys in their most dramatic mood, with his use of light and movement in a magical unique manner.
The overall result is to depict his native Scotland in his instantly recognisable handwriting. It has been said Philip’s work reminds you of sitting in a isolated cottage on Scotland’s West Coast, watching the weather moving past the window....

                       

Whisky Club - Bruichladdich

new session starts on Thursday 30th September, 2010 at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start

£5 per session

After the summer off, Bruichladdich "The sophisticated single
Islay Malt" will be our first guest of the new session. During
the course of the evening we will be guided through the
tasting by Bruichladdich’s industry expert David Keir. With
David’s thoughtful comments the evening should prove to
be both informative and fun.

Mixed Summer Show - July and August 2010

Well Summer is here! not that you would know it in certain parts!! 

Drymen has been very busy with visitors old and new, We cant thank you enough for your continued support and for all your lovely comments.

Our Summer show opens with a mix of new works by many of our Gallery artists, Iona Crawford, Huw Williams, John Damari, Joe Hendry to name just a few. We are also very pleased to welcome new artists to the gallery. Claire Wills, Scott Carruthers, Pam Glennie and Adam Walker Parker.

Whisky

New in stock is Stronachie from the "Lost Distillery", from a single 1904 bottle this
Perthshire gem was resurrected in 2002.

The Single Malt was matched to another distillery still in production,
one creating a malt which reflects the style character and flavour
of the original Stronachie whisky. It is beleived that there are only
two other bottles from this time held in private collections in Germany
and Japan.

In essence Stronachie is a vatted malt, where they use small batch
production from Benrinnes Distillery in Speyside. They now have
brought out an 18 Year Old last month to sit alongside the standard
12 Year Old. 
 
We are delighted to now have both in stock, with the ever present bottle open for tasting.

We continue to work hard at sourcing out new craftspeople from all over the UK and this Summer we wont let you down.

As well as our excisting supplieres,  we are pleased to welcome on board: Stone Splitter who make quirky clocks from Raku Pottery, look out for the wee mouse! and Ceri Whites beautifull contemporary range of earthenware tiles.

Also new this Summer is the fabulous ceramic pieces by Gio Martin, many of you will know Gio from her fabulous jewellery that continues to be very popular.

New designs in from award winning Scott Inness. Their beautifull range of aprons, bags and tea towels continue to be very populuar with all our visitors, home and abroad. 

We have lots more on board so why not pop into Drymen over the Summer months to find something a little unique.

"East to West" 30May - 30Jun

This month see's new paintings by featured artist Joyce Borland.
Her new landscape paintings take us on a journey from East to the West
of Scotland.

Whisky

Even though there is no whisky club over the Summer, we still have plenty
of bottles open for tasting. Be that a light fragrant malt like
Dalwhinne, with its Summer overtones, or something to have
after the BBQ...how about a little known distillery like Benriach
10year old Curiostas, which was the first peated Speyside Malt!

So pop in and find the right dram to relax in the garden, enjoying
the long Summer nights.

Exhibition opening Saturday the 1st of May

Opening at Drymen fo the month of May, a fabulous mixed
exhibition of original Scottish Art by many of our gallery
artists, including Philip Raskin, Pam Carter, Gordon Wilson,
Mark Holden and Iona Crawford to name just a few.



 
This month sees the fabulous new product "Ness" on our
shelves Ness, independant fashion and lifestyle label, injects
high street verve and good humoured irreverence into tartan,
an iconic season staple, to produce a look which is chic,
individual and fun!

Currently in stock are bags and purses however depending on
demand the range may grow!



  Returning to the Gallery for May are some fabulous pieces by glass
  artist Natalie Aird. Her kiln formed glass comes in variations from
  the iconic Loch Lomond to the jagged wall clock.

Our Guest for Aprils whisky club was Glendronach, a true corner stone of Speyside Malt Whisky!

On the night we were taken through 7 fantastic whiskies by Alistair Walker
whos family own and run the distillery, this included a few ranges from their
sister distillery BenRiach.

Our Whisky Club is having the Summer off, however we always have a good
selection open for sampling, so pop by and choose that malt for relaxing in
the garden!

This Easter seen Ealain Gallery returning to Gleneagles Hotel for our 4th annual
"weekend for art lovers"
As always we had a fantastic weekend, thank you to all that came and for all
your lovely comments and sales!
Our artists demonstrating Philip Raskin, Derek Collins and Angus MacDonald
really wowed the crowd and made for a very interesting show!

"Weekend for Art Lovers" Easter Weekend 2011

Opening this Sunday the 28th of March 2-4pm
(the exhibition and sale continues until 28Apr)

Artist Luci Maclaren's first solo show in Scotland will display a
selection of her work on the subjects which are her great loves
- shooting, hillwalking and sailing.
In 2007 Luci started painting her shooting series, her style takes
a fresh and contemporary look at a traditional sport.

Thursday 25th March - 7:15 for 7:30 start

Balblair's Gordon Hynd will take us through the range,
where we will be tasting a 97,89,75 and 88 single
cask. In addition to this something extra special.....
a Hankey Bannister 40 year old!

Cost: £5 per person per club night

We had a fantastic opening on Sunday afternoon with Gordon's work proving to be still very much in demand.
This is one artists work I would very much recommend investing in.

The show will continue throughout March for anyone who couldn't make the opening, and we'll get Gordon's latest work up on the website as soon as we can!
