A few of our customers over the past month have come into the gallery and said ‘You must be really quiet at this time of year.’ No chance!
The Kramek v McLaughlin exhibition may be drawing to a close this week, but its full steam ahead with Iona Crawford’s solo show ‘Fair Game and Feathers’ opening this Sunday (the 20th). More details are available on our website or on our Facebook page.
Speaking of Facebook, have you found our page yet? I know, I know, you are probably resisting the whole ‘social networking’ thing for fear of becoming addicted…but it’s worth joining even if just to sign up to our page. We regularly post sneak previews of new paintings and items in the gallery, plus you can find more details of our upcoming exhibitions. We also need to get more ‘friends’ than the ‘Make Jedi an Official Religion’ page, or else we will never be able to hold our head up in cyberspace again…
Our latest additions to the shop include The Isle of Skye Candle Company range, some new pottery, jewellery and Stone Bags back in their more summery colours.
We had some fun yesterday when Garry Jones, one of our cermaic artists, paid us a visit and from his relatively normal sized van produced a seemingly never-ending supply of his ceramics. Our biggest problem was deciding which ones to take but thankfully June decided ‘as many as possible’ was the best answer. We will be putting these on the website as soon as we can, but in the meantime pop into the gallery and see the menagerie in the flesh (so to speak). In addition to the sheep, cows and horses we have previously stocked Garry has also given is some larger pieces, seen below modeled by Garry and some strange guy who was hanging around at the time, and these have to be seen to be believed! The ceramics that is, not the models.
Finally a reminder that the Whisky Club meets again on the 31st of March. Anyone who attended last month will know we are not joking when we say ‘please book in advance’ as February’s meeting was bulging at the seams. So please, waste no time and book your place now, ‘cos if your name aint on the list chances are you wont get in the door!
So a quiet time at Ealain Gallery? You must be kidding! But we wouldn’t have it any other way…
