So…28 days into the New Year and how many of those resolutions have you broken already? I fell off the ‘This Year I Am Eating Healthily’ wagon yesterday, thankfully there were a couple of chocolate eclairs there to cushion the fall.
The shop is looking all fresh and, dare I say it, Spring-Like. As much as June and I love Christmas, after twelfth night the itch is there to de-clutter, de-glitter and basically get rid of all of those santas! Of course if the grinch had his way we would have done that on the 1st of December. That said I’m sure we will keep finding stars, robins and red glittery things in the corners we have forgotten about – we should make it a treasure hunt for the new year…
Thankfully its been a busy month to keep away those January Blues. The Whisky Club started again last night, with a visit from Tomatin another great night hosted by Tomatins Alasdair Much. Burns’ Night also gave you a perfect excuse to purchase a new tipple. For those with a sweeter tooth the Arran cream liqueur, and Old Pultney‘s Whisky Liqueur were a great hit with the Crannachan!
The Higher Expressive work from the pupils at Balfron High School is currently showing in the gallery, a great chance to see the work of the local school, and possibly the artists of the future! June and Cameron are putting the finishing touches to an extensive year of shows both here in Drymen and at other venues; check out our website for more details.
Make sure you leave a window in that shiny new diary to get into the shop for some new year bargains; Stone Bags, Farmhouse Crockery and selected notebooks on special offer now. Plus we still have a wide range of winter hats, scarves and gloves to keep out the freezing fog! Also, don’t forget that Valentines Day is just around the corner…
And that’s your lot for now. I’m off to chew some celery and pretend it’s a Mars Bar.
