About Michelle DuffyMichelle, a self taught artist who returned to art later in life, has been painting full time for the last few years, working in all media and in many styles and subjects. Much of her inspiration comes from the Scottish and Irish countryside, with its wonderful changing light and seasons, stunning coastlines and dramatic historic landscapes. She is currently enjoying creating a collection of deeply textural abstract pieces which are richly coloured and three-dimensional. Many of her works have aspects inspired by her Scottish/Irish (Celtic) ancestry with its imagery and symbolism along with the beauty and lyricism of the Gaelic language, and these elements often encapsulated in both the abstract and landscape pieces. Michelle loves the adrenalin rush of seeing each work take shape and enjoys trying new things all the time, waking each morning with new painting ideas in her head, and rediscovering the joy and excitement of creativity.
