About Luci MaclarenWe are delighted to be introducing Luci as a new artist to the gallery. Born in Perthshire in 1976 going on to study at St Andrews University, Fife, Scotland. (MA Hons Art History) 1994-98, and then from 2004-06 Santa Monica College, School of Art, Los Angeles. Luci's work is a natural and impulsive meeting of oil and canvas. Luci is obessed by light and atmosphere, working quickly with brush and palate knife to capture the moment in time, raw and uncontrolled. From an early age Luci has been infatuated by the paintings of the Scottish Colourists and in particular that of Francis Cadell. His use of colour, movement and atmosphere remain a constant source of wonder and inspiration. In 2007 Luci started painting her shooting series. Her style takes a fresh and contemporary look at a traditional sport.
