About Cardhu

Cardhu (Gaelic for “black rock” after a near by point on the Spey) Distillery can be found in Aberlour Banffshire. This distillery has a history unlike many, from the early days of the Cummings ladies, two strong women; a mother and a daughter-in-law.

In more recent years Cardhu was in broiled with controversy, mainly due to its own success on the continent. The distillery owners repackaged “Cardhu Single Malt” to “Cardhu Pure Malt”, however this caused somewhat of a debate within the industry resulting in the owners returning Cardhu to a single malt.

Here at Ealain Gallery we are lucky enough to have both Single and Pure Malt in stock, although the Pure Malt is in limited numbers.
