Since graduating from art college Athena McLellan worked as a graphic designer. Changes to her life, including motherhood, gave her the opportunity to turn to gardening & designing; enabling her to be creative with plants at the same time as indulging her passion for the outdoors.

Until this time painting had always been, as she put it, a ‘sideline’, however as she got older she found herself having the urge to paint more and more.

At present animals are Athena’s subject and she works from both life and photographs. Her aim is to catch their characters, and hopefully to make people smile along the way.
