About Mark HoldenMark was born in Glasgow in 1962 and studied at Edinburgh University. Whilst at school Mark developed his drawing and painting techniques however due to other subject choices he was unable to continue art after leaving for Edinburgh University. His career had been in Sales and Marketing. At this time he developed a strong interest in photography and this led to several of his photographs being published in magazines. After a period of illness a few years ago Mark began to rediscover his interest in painting and from that point on he continued developing his work. Over the last 5 years he has embarked on establishing himself as a full time artist. Mark enjoys using colour and texture in his paintings to convey the experience of being at the varied locations. His favourite landscapes to paint include St. Andrews, Elie and Iona. He was recently the featured artist at the Annual Glasgow Macmillan Cancer charity event.
