About Vanessa Lawrence

Vanessa Lawrence grew up on the west coast of Scotland. In 1993 she studied figurative drawing and painting at the Lorenzo De Medici School of Art in Florence, before travelling through Switzerland painting commissions.

Since 1997 Vanessa has studied at the New York School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture, and the Ecole des Beaux Artes in Marseille.

In 2001 Vanessa was part of a residency program in the World Trade Centre but was thankfully able to escape the building after the attack on the 11th of September.

Since returning to Scotland Vanessa has been living in Glasgow and working from a studio in the West End.
